Eyes Like the Sea
ABOUT BOOK
A most interesting, startling, and original novel. The incidents described in it are intensely dramatic, and in none of Jókai's other novels does he tell us so much about himself, his home and his early struggles, both as an author and a patriot. He is, in fact, the hero of this, his own romance, the heroine being Bessy, a most piquant and fascinating creature, who marries five men, one after another, and then, because she slew the fifth, is doomed to a sad end.
