A period of widespread unrest followed the close of the Great War. Unseen and mysterious forces were at work in our civilization jeopardizing its very permanency. This was true not only of Russia, with its Bolsheviki, but no less of our own national life, undermined by devious schemes and threatened by sinister influences.
